The Candidate
When in minds' meadows appear
life giving breezes that blow fair
and purge personal sordid affairs
that somehow misdeeds repair
Spoken words whispered in the fading light
that somehow misdeeds repair
Spoken words whispered in the fading light
shine while expiring perceptions bright
cast shadows on the prophets' eclipse
that cause words bitter to flow from trembling lips
Words absorbed on horizons' rim
by strangled hordes with hopeful whims
painted in dangerous pictures
that shine as bright economic structures
The prophet vaguely speaks his mind
spreading hope on seas unkind
with visions and dignity never revealed
accompanied by freedom bells that loudly peal
His reality is wrapped in a shroud
covering the path of truth in a cloud
of National purpose and future
that hang in the balance of rhetorical torture
