Gananoque Wedding
The Thousand Islands smiled on that day
the nineteenth in the month of May
as charming friends and family
gathered in the village of Gananoque
They came from places near and some far away
by the Saint Lawrence river to stay
from Edmonton and Vancouver Island
from California and Amsterdam, Netherland
from the Empire State, across the border
arriving guests were greeted with smiles and laughter
and as if by magic, clouds vanished
letting the sun shine as all had wished
Some golf was enjoyed not far away
at Green Acres on Saturday
while the ladies glorious in beauty prepped
some tears of joy were quietly wept
Then, beneath the heavens and winds mellow
along the bright river flowing slow
the bride emerged for all to see
walking slowly towards her husband to be
with mother and father by her side
she was the loveliest of brides
and the Canadian Empress docked not far away
gave a reverberating blast of approval that day
the bride was a beautiful apparition glowing in his sight
there for him to cherish with delight
and with promises softly declared
each vowed to forever their life share
Then, late into the mauve tinted night
dance floor bathed in colored light
with all guests steeped in happiness
everyone wished the newlyweds the very best
