Home Happening ( continuation of 'pen' series 0

Home Happening ( rewrite )
In the very eye of life's' storm
there stands a house of ancient norm
with charming Victorian style conveyed
it has not changed, it has not aged
as I stroll past it everyday
it has remained unchanged in every way
wide front porch and carriage house dressed in white
displaying an emerald lawn, quite the sight
surrounding the property a white picket fence
sporting the classy look of long ago, whence
gentlemen and ladies can be pictured
milling about, playing lawn games for sure
everyone dressed in their Sunday best
enjoying a quiet weekends rest
I've visited this old home familiar
smelling the flowers displayed but never lingered
staying there not very long
still in mind stirring emotions strong
lately, that Victorian property
has cast invisible forces upon me
quietly forcing unwanted attraction
silently sending a mental invitation
to visit again and smell those roses
have one last recital of Sterling proses
gather with friends and family
inside this Funeral Home in our city

Prose and Poems Reopened ( continuation of 'pen' series )

Poems and Prose Reopened
'Tis when reasoning becomes crystal clear
bringing creative juices to surface near
that unsteady and spontaneous emotions
flow unfettered and are penned without distortions
forging trains of words on purpose
sometimes stretching language usage
now and then, some prose lacking sense
give poetic life vigor and sustenance
extending possibilities at boundaries edge
wanting to hammer that literary wedge
break away from tradition cast
lightly stepping over drawn lines of the past
that separate goodness and perdition
during life's' timely rendition
boundary in daily existence
that shape common reality in a sense
Then, in the distance seeing shadows entwined
soaked with the aroma of fame and wine
never to jell into golden reward
always residing in thoughts I can afford
that hang like ghostly clouds against the sky
merged in comments that seek to fly
in poems and writings of all kinds
giving life to offspring of the mind

Time Spent..(continuation of 'pen' series )

Time Spent
Fatal and perfidious time flows so swiftly
it quickly passes with little moments everyday
each second much like a coin dropped casually
into the slot machine of life and spent recklessly
hoping fervently that fortunes eyes
will smile and lady luck materialize
in passionate existence enjoyed fully
and wasted not the moments of ones day
time spent grows into symbols of destiny
let seconds turn into minutes and see
elapsed time become shadowy hours spent
as the societal machine shapes the flowing torrent
absorbing greedily, hours and days unfailing
capturing temporal wealth and other things
Then, after your generosity's fatal attraction
has disbursed the endowment of generations
will the record show that life, yours and mine
has used meaningfully those precious coins of time
and given purpose to seconds, minutes, hours spent
in that temporal slot machine without comment

Entrepot Pending (continuation of 'pen' series )

ENTREPOT PENDING ( rewrite )
'Tis when on sunlit dusty shelves
full and sometimes spilling over
that ghostly items mimic ourselves
silently seeking resurrection together
longing for bountiful redemption
as someday eager hands seeking
will confirm your needed satisfaction
like the dusty parcel quietly lingering
be freed from bondage and shaded stay
only to leave on that shelf an empty spot
as that parcel seizes the day
time persistent will fill that empty slot
left by human essence unseen
now that opportunity for the moment
has displaced the package seen
releasing it from its purgatory spent

Basketball Hoop Impended ( continuation of 'pen' series )

Basketball hoop Impended
On the corner of my property
under the now sprawling maple tree
it stands erect with some rusty coloring
its backboard once new and gleaming
now mildewed and worn is the shaggy netting
abandoned and unused in its setting
twisted branches course over it
cover its presence hiding it more than a bit
time has reduced its usefulness to memories cast
remembering life in minds' eye past
long ago when the maple made smaller shadows
games were played and laughter bellowed
youthful screams echoed all around
many points were tallied and joy found
children from the neighborhood rallied and played
'Twas part of daily reality there made
it witnessed years of our family existence
silently absorbing our combined essence
the parties in the yard and the summer flowers
warm rain showers, snowbanks of winter with icy glitter
as I behold its present state under the tree alone
I remember the children's years at home
their world much smaller on the Island spent
laughing and playing hellbent
their voices echoing in memory loops
as I stare at that beloved basketball hoop

Stupendous ( continuation of 'pen' series )

Stupendous
I experienced Infinity the other night
Moving within a beam of endless light
everything quiet and calm inside the stream
but outside a blur of multicolored lights it seemed
all around me time had no meaning
as the beam forged onward streaking
casting no shadow through space and time
physical essence gone and feeling fine
in the distance a lighthouse could be seen
as a point of brightness sharp and keen
beyond which nothing but darkness
black and unforgiving, no more no less
nothingness felt but not perceived
hard to understand or even believe
near me in my blinding flight
all that I am sensed with delight
naked existence as pure energy
earthly cares and possessions free
no thoughts condemning the human condition
just good feelings of contrition
no religions or governments did I see
as I travelled to eternity
It was pouring eternal energy
and I drank it in for free
thousands of souls where next to me
some diverted to the darkness of infinity
I was alive but felt somewhat dead
rushing at light speed towards the lighthouse far ahead
it was a beautiful ride in motion spent
trying to reach that light as I travelled hellbent
