Addiction
As flames slowly expire and embers fly silently
The cold darkness approaches me steadily
and much like a child afraid of the night
I need you to be my light
To brighten the road that twists and winds
as I travel with you, I'll be fine
'Tis when special moments are known
and in lifes' winds silently blown
to gratefully fill my sails under skies blue
that you become my steady wind so true
You are the soft breeze messing my hair
You are the comfort always there
and just like a flower needs rain
I need your presence and love it contains
During my voyage on life's raging seas
drenched with love unleashed in ecstasy
in ageless times sunshine filled
I need you till my spirit is stilled
and like a prayer in deaths darkness
I need you there during my eternal rest
