Wooden
Round and round against his will
he carries riders that reach for the gold ring
the carousel stallion glows in the sunlight
this horse of wood gallops and knows not why
Wouldn't he love to be fleshy real
able to run and scamper in open field
Born of forest under gray skies
colorful wooden steeds never die
they exist in colors filled with promises
wouldn't these bearers of joy with wooden graces
understand their purpose and destiny
while nurturing unavailable liberty
They live in mysterious ways
wishing they were diamonds in glass displays
protected by wooden soldiers repressing forces dark
who are only afraid of fire and sparks
Wouldn't they want in moonlight shadows
to bleed sawdust and be heroes
Then, return home and settle down
cloaked in temporary glory there found
Be surrounded by wooden fences
that prevent societal life essence
Wouldn't it be better to listen to their tedious song
while having a coffee and a chat on Sunday morn
