Monocotyledonous
I broadcast my seed on a windy day
being a supporter of life in my own way
They softly settled on untorn soil
some on protruding dirt coils
lingering there in naked fate
for all to see while being sun baked
Quickly they put down roots
and the earth squeezed them into shoots
that emerged through the moist barrier
like blades of a can opener
Their silent cry in the moment together
announced existence never fresher
Verdant covering for the ugly soil
rendering my yard acceptable and unspoiled
A brown field yielding to vistas green
while seeds performed natures creed
beneath the deep blue skies
becoming a woven carpet for my eyes
My state of mind is now complete
as I bask in the passion of emerald green
