Passengers
Round and round we all rotate
quite oblivious of our spin rate
we ride a revolving ball of dirt
a spaceship we call earth
Our star rises and sets
and we feel no regret
because we separate from a friend
that tomorrow we'll see again
Seasons come and go
we all wonder why this is so
as we all circle our star quite rapidly
blissfully ignorant of distances travelled today
We're passengers on a voyage to nowhere
enjoying life without much care
while stuck in a spiral arm spinning
rotating swiftly in our Galactic thing
We're specks in a vast cosmos
that's expanding into darkness unknown
we are passengers gifted with cognition
and we understand our finite condition
